News: The Windows version is now compiled with the Matlab 6.5 libraries rather than the previous Matlab 6.1 libraries. This fixes a bug with opening the help files when your default browser is Netscape. To use the new version, you will need to download the new zip file and replace your current version with the new executable, as well as run the new mglinstaller.exe file to install the Matlab 6.5 libraries. A linux version using the new library version will be available soon.

We present methods to overcome hurdles in the image analysis bottleneck.  The goal of SignalViewer is to provide researchers with a freeware tool to visually explore image data and assess their confidence in numerical information generated by the experiment.  Meanwhile, this application is useful for statisticians as a means to explore variability in image data.

SignalViewer performs automated grid alignment, spot detection, background estimation, flagging, and signal extraction. Viewing windows allow inspection of microarrays at the array, block, and individual spot levels. Manual overrides are in place to allow the user to modify flagged spots or misplaced blocks. Histograms, scatterplots, and 3-D topographical plots allow the user to inspect data from spots or blocks. Help documentation is part of the zip file to guide users in getting started.
